Psychological Testing Charlottesville
In the past few months I’ve worked with a former colleague’s child, a teen whose older brother I had tested years ago, and a mom who stumbled upon my business from a web search. The first two know the quality of my work and–perhaps as importantly–have worked with other psychologists. The fact that they have put their trust in me is not something I take lightly. I strive to make not just my reports personal and accessible, but I also strive to make the entire process personal. I want to empower our kids, teens, and adults to understand themselves–knowing that understanding is always more than a diagnosis. And for that mom who found me from a quick web search, I appreciate the chance she’s taking on me, a total stranger. So, whether you or someone you love is wresting with what might be ADHD, a learning disability, autism, anxiety, or just life, I’m happy to listen and come alongside you for the journey.

Evaluation Goals
People come to us for various reasons. For some clients, it’s understanding. Why math homework consistently ends in tears, why reading is still hard in late elementary school, or why there always seems to be a handful of missing assignments? For other clients, they have a decent handle on what their struggle is, they’ve tried to press forward, but not much has helped. They want a solid game-plan, whether that’s in school, college, or at work. And for a few, they’ve been receiving appropriate support but need renewed testing in order for this to continue.
Psychological Testing Charlottesville
We provide a range of psychological evaluations in Charlottesville–for children, teens, and adults. What kinds? Assessments for dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia (learning disabilities in reading, writing, and math). We also provide assessments for ADD, ADHD, and autism. And, since many of our clients also struggle with anxiety, depression, or similar, we can help sort out how these impact everyday functioning.
Why choose us?
We’ve read enough evaluations and completed enough of our own evaluations to know this: not all evaluations are created equal. We have a simple goal: to provide a comprehensive evaluation that misses nothing, to communicate results clearly, to offer a clear path forward, and–perhaps most important–to make the process personal. As a small business, we’ve grown by doing this, and our mission is to keep our standards super-high. That’s why a good portion of our clients are direct referrals from previous clients. Costs and insurance
Evaluations are investments. Many are literally eight hours of direct testing. Add interviews with parents, teachers, organizing and writing a thorough report, sitting down to chat about results and a specific plan moving forward–it’s a lot. Now, would you be able to find another psychologist offering an assessment for less money? Yes, you would. Are there others charging a lot more? Yes. In the end, we strive to provide excellent service while keeping our fees reasonable–like you, we have bills to pay and a family to support.
Since we are an out-of-network provider, we do not accept insurance. So, our services are considered self-pay. We can, however, arrange a payment plan and try to be flexible to meet the needs of our clients. And, we accept HSA and FSA cards. For more specific details, check out our fees page.
